Why use ROTRANS™?

The main important difference between ROTRANS™ and other systems are:

  • An absolute continuous analogue 1 to 1 signal transmission. ROTRANS™ uses unique liquid metal technology enables this high quality transmission.
  • ROTRANS™ rotates from 0 to 42’000 rpm, and a special version up to 70'000 rpm

  • The ROTRANS™ durability is one of its appreciated performances (many times longer than other comparable technologies). The ROTANS lifetime is much more than 200 time longer than a slipring !

  • Thanks to its high quality of transmission ROTRANS™ permits the discovery of unknown phenomena

  • ROTRANS™ is easy to use and reliable, just like a cable!

ROTRANS™ uses the only technology available for such high transmission capabilities

ROTRANS™ is in conformity with the RoHs and WEEE directives

The next picture shows the difference between ROTRANS™ and other possibilities such as slip-ring or telemetry. ROTRANS™ is a measurement signal transmitter whereas other systems are only electrical signal transmitters.

How to use ROTRANS™?

ROTRANS transmit supplying energy to the rotating system and to transducer and sensor.

ROTRANS™ is so easy to use that you can concentrate to your activities on improving performance and reliability or, take more time for yourself

High Dynamic Torque

A high dynamic measurement of torque can only be realised using strain-gauges and ROTRANS™, without pre-amplification or supplementary electronics.

Blade vibration measurement of turbine

Vibration measurement

The quality of the signal is such that any vibration can be measured with strain-gauges and ROTRANS™.

The ROTRANS™ transmission ratio is so 1 to 1 that vibration can be measured, e.g. for turbines and other rotating items.

Temperature measurement/Thermocouple

The temperature measurement can be realise with various temperature sensor and also with the use of thermocouple (microvolt signal) without pre-amplification or supplementary electronics.

Reliability

ROTRANS™ works perfectly and is insensitive to:

  • electromagnetic fields (these could affect telemetry transmission)
  • vibration (this could affect the slip-ring because vibration means variation of force between brush and ring that creates signal variation)
  • high noise levels (at about 180 dB, this can affect the performance of electronic components)
